My Go-To Accessories

Hey friends! Today we wanted to take a walk down accessories lane and chat about one of our favorite elements of style. To me, accessories are that finishing touch that make an outfit look totally complete and put together. Are you one of my many friends that don’t mess with accessorizing? This post is for you. Accessories are a fun way to add interest to a simple outfit, or to spice up an old favorite and make it feel new again. When my budget is tight, I look to new accessories rather than a completely new outfit. It’s the way you accessorize an outfit that truly puts your mark on it. A well placed scarf or perfectly matched hat is, for me, what a true understanding of style is all about. I hope this post, written by one of our contributing writers Talia, inspires you to get creative with your accessories in the seasons to come. We’re talking jewelry, bags, scarves, and more as a way to elevate your style game. Enjoy, and happy accessorizing!

My go-to for accessories especially when it comes to jewelry are simple gold pieces; they are easy to layer and can add subtle interest and a little sparkle to any look. Stacked thin gold rings, simple necklaces like our moon shaped hammered necklace from Amanda Michelle add interest to any relaxed day to day look or can easily transition into a bit of sparkle for a night out.

These beautiful and colorful scarves can add a pop of color to any look and can be used in so many different ways. You can tie it around your neck, add it to a purse or tie it into your hair. I love scarves for the simple reason they have multiple uses. You can’t go wrong with this simple and functional piece!

What can I say about shoes? I’m a lover of all shoes and fully believe you can never have too many pairs. I’m a sucker for simple and classic, but I also feel that shoes offer an opportunity to add color, texture, and pattern to any look. Be bold and be brave when picking out shoes. I like to invest in simple staples, but I tend to spend less on bolder, statement shoes for less frequent wear.

When it comes to bags, I love to look for those which offer interest to any outfit. One of my favorite bags is from Covet, it is a beautiful emerald green leather crossbody bag; it is simple and understated and but still offers a punch of color. When shopping for bags I am always focused on three things. Functionality, color, and texture. Whether it’s a large tote for work, or a crossbody bag for day to day wear, I always look for a beautiful color, like rich neutrals or jewel tones and textures like suede, leather or pony hair. Bags are where I like to spend more money and invest in a piece that will last for many years.

Hats are one of my favorite ways to accessorize any look. I love any wide brim structured hat, I’ll take it any color- brown, black, grey or white. You can pair it with a flowy summer dress and gladiator sandals or throw it on with denim and a leather jacket. It adds a causal and effortless look. You can never go wrong with a hat.
